Traditional harnesses actually encourage dogs to pull harder through the "opposition reflex." This is the reflex that causes sled dogs to pull against pressure to move the sled. The unique leash attachment on the front of the Easy Walk harness prevents pulling by steering your dog to the side and focusing on you. The patent-pending chest loop with a D-ring provides extra leverage for easy, relaxed control and prevents the harness from twisting or becoming loose. It is not recommended to use the Easy Walk harness with a retractable leash. With such a leash, the dog is "rewarded" with more room to run when it pulls. The goal is to teach the dog NOT to pull. Furthermore, a retractable leash always applies light, constant pressure, teaching your dog that it's okay to keep pulling. The harness comes with a 1.8 metre leash.
