The Groene Os Evening Primrose-Borage Oil Dog/Cat 50 ml is a supplement for dogs and cats and contains the polyunsaturated fatty acid GLA. Both evening primrose oil and borage oil are rich in the omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid. Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid, but it is often found in excess in food. Adding borage oil improves the balance between GLA and linoleic acid.
Evening primrose borage oil is rich in the polyunsaturated fatty acids GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) and LA (linoleic acid). GLA is important for mucous membranes, skin, and hormones, among other things. Linoleic acid is found in several plant oils, but evening primrose borage oil is one of the few oils that also contains a high concentration of GLA.
This supplement may be a good idea if the animal needs support for healthy skin, to support a normal musculoskeletal system and in female animals to support hormone balance.
