De Groene Os Fish Omega Dog/Cat 250 ml is a fish oil rich in the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, which support various important bodily functions in dogs and cats. The two most important essential fatty acids for dogs and cats are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
EPA is important for the heart, blood vessels, respiratory tract, and nerve cell communication, among other things. DHA has a significant impact on brain function. Sufficient DHA contributes to good concentration and improved learning performance. Due to the presence of DHA in omega-3 fatty acids, this fatty acid is recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Dogs and cats have little or no enzymes necessary to convert essential omega-3 fatty acids from vegetable oils into EPA and DHA. Therefore, it's important for them to receive these fatty acids from animal sources. Linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid in the omega-6 category, is typically found in excess in food.
Natural vitamin E has been added to Vis Omega to improve shelf life.
