Since they often have to perform at high levels, it's important that they receive high-quality nutrition that is quickly absorbed by the body. This prevents hypoglycemia, a condition in which the dog loses consciousness due to low blood sugar.
Very nervous dogs often don't want to eat when they sense something exciting is about to happen (working dogs live up to their name). In practice, we've found that they will eat Energique. Give approximately 100 grams per day for every 5 kg of body weight. After a workday, you can easily give considerably more. This is an average, depending on the dog's needs. Fresh water should always be available.
