Properties by ingredient : Dong quai (Angelica sinensis) Angelica sinensis – Chinese Angelica: Dong quai was originally used for its balancing effects on the female hormonal system. Dong quai may help reduce discomfort and cramps, mood swings, irritable posture, and bloating.
Humulus Lupulus, this herb has a strong relaxing and calming effect. Hops promote digestion.
Ginkgo biloba for better concentration and memory.
St. John's wort is used as a psychological tonic.
Inositol has a calming effect. This vitamin B3 compound consists of six niacin molecules bound to a single molecule of inositol, an unofficial B vitamin. Once this compound enters the body, the molecule is slowly broken down, and niacin gradually enters the bloodstream, where it can exert its effects. The presence of inositol slows the release of niacin.
Two-styled hawthorn (Crataegus) for the heart. It is prescribed for nervousness, among other things.
L-tryptophan has a calming effect. L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid, but it is not abundantly present in animal diets. It is the only precursor of the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin levels in the brain can be increased by taking L-tryptophan. L-tryptophan also has appetite-suppressing properties, making it useful for weight loss.
Magnesium and vitamin B6 also play an important role in the conversion of L-tryptophan to serotonin and have been added for this reason. (Source: Natura Foundation monograph)
Magnesium is also called the anti-stress mineral. It has antispasmodic and relaxing properties and performs a number of essential functions in the body. Magnesium deficiency often manifests as muscle cramps and fatigue. A magnesium deficiency generally results in an anxious reaction. The duration of action of vitamin B3 is extended by L-tryptophan. Vitamin B3 Niacin is the building block of the coenzymes NAD+ and NADP+: More than 200 enzymes depend on these coenzymes for their function. Because NAD and NADP are essential for energy metabolism, among other things, it is obvious that niacin supplementation improves energy metabolism and is successfully used in the treatment of fatigue, irritability, and for healthy digestion. Niacin is particularly used to counteract severe mood swings. (Source: Natura Foundation monograph)
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hcl) is a co-factor and enhances the effect of magnesium and L-Tryptophan.
Zinc (as L-methionine) supports mental alertness.
Inositol has a calming effect
Dosage and application:
Unless the doctor or therapist prescribes otherwise.
The optimal dosage 1 - 2 x daily:
Dog > 25 kg 3 scoops
Dog 10-25 kg 2 scoops
Dog < 10 kg
Cat 1 scoop
1 scoop contains approximately 1 gram.
To administer
Can be mixed with food. Because this powder contains herbs, it's recommended to start with a small amount to allow the animal to get used to the taste. Moisten the powder so it doesn't blow out of the food bowl.
Advice for use
Each animal responds differently to the stated dosage. The dosage is quite precise; observe the animal's behavior carefully. If the results are insufficient, slowly increase the dosage. Once the desired behavior is achieved, a maintenance dose can be introduced, gradually reducing the dosage to approximately half of the indicated daily dose.
Treatment duration
In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can range from a few days to three weeks. Continue administering this product for a few more days if there is improvement.
For prolonged discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, you can switch to a maintenance dose. This is usually half the dosage indicated on the packaging. When dosing this product, carefully monitor your animal's reaction. A higher dosage may be necessary initially; this product can be safely administered at double the recommended dose. Gradually reduce the dosage to the lowest possible dose.
This product can be administered continuously. It is recommended to have a week off every 6 to 8 weeks. This way, the "stimulant" can be offered again after the week off. Resume treatment immediately if necessary.
