Our ingredients
To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Schnauzer-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the Schnauzer's breed characteristics. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Schnauzer belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the Schnauzer's health and well-being.
Basil
Basil is a genus in the Lamiaceae family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where Œbasileus means king; the alternative name is therefore "royal herb." It is native to Central Africa and Southeast Asia.
Traditional medicine used basil as a treatment for arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and stomach aches, among other ailments. Research has shown that basil may have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, aid waste elimination, and have antispasmodic and calming effects on dogs.
Mango
Mango belongs to the Mangifera genus and likely originates from northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a drupe with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.
This delicious summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C, and E, and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene, and alpha-carotene. Mango also contains plenty of healthy fiber, which helps strengthen the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant vitamin C helps support vital bodily functions. Vitamin A is packed with beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve vision.
We add mango to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting your dog's immune system and healthy digestion. Mango can also support your dog's vision.
Apple
The apple tree is a tree in the Malus genus, which produces the eating apples, particularly common in the Northern Hemisphere. It grows in temperate regions.
Dietary fiber has a versatile effect in the digestive tract. It absorbs moisture, making stool soft and smooth. Dietary fiber also increases intestinal volume. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough elimination of waste.
Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They're also rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the chunks, and apples are low in calories.
Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C supports muscle and bone development during early childhood.
Puppy, adult or senior?
To help you make the right choice between our Schnauzer dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Schnauzer is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy option. For a Schnauzer over 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Schnauzer Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult option.

Switching advice
If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Schnauzer dog food at your own discretion.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
